Turning the Tide: Sandy divestment forum live webcast
One year ago, Superstorm Sandy made landfall in New York and New Jersey. The devastation helped to mobilize a very necessary, overdue conversation on climate survival, but the financial component of climate pollution—specifically a fossil fuel-reliant economy—has still largely been ignored. One year later, “Turning the Tide: Carbon Divestment for a Post-Sandy Wall Street” brought together climate activists, financial experts, and local residents to put the spotlight on Wall Street’s role in carbon pollution—especially on New York’s richest man, carbon financier David H. Koch.
