UPDATES: Sept. 22, 2014 - We did it! Google CEO Eric Schmidt announced today on NPR's Diane Rehm show that Google would drop it's membership in ALEC.

My name is Steve Wilke, and I’m the founder of an Oklahoma-based solar and wind energy developer called Delta Engineering.

Google is still a dues-paying member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC)—and a new law backed by ALEC has just ruined the market for rooftop solar here in Oklahoma, creating an uncertain future for my company and others. Oklahoma isn’t the only state ALEC’s targeting—from Vermont to Utah, ALEC is rolling out coordinated efforts to spread misinformation and charge solar users extra fees.

This Wednesday, I’m attending Google's annual shareholders' meeting to show CEO Larry Page how Google is undermining its own clean energy goals, and to ask him to withdraw Google’s support for ALEC.
